HPMC is strongly committed to being a good corporate citizen and supports local organizations that reflect our corporate culture and marketplace. In addition, HPMC supports our employees both with donations and paid time to pursue personal charitable interests. This is true regardless of where our employees work. In other words, HPMC supports our employees nationwide just as we support our local staff.
Some of HPMC's community involvement activities include:
Women Helping Women Fund Tri-Cities
The Women Helping Women Fund Tri-Cities luncheon is an annual fundraiser that HPMC staff joins WHWFTC during their lunch hour to dine on a delicious meal, listen to an inspirational speaker and raise money for those in need. 100% of the funds raised stay in our community. HPM Corporation is proud to be a Corporate Sponsor for this local event!
Columbia Basin College
HPMC provides significant cash donations to CBC to be used for academic scholarships for students in the Nursing and Allied Health programs. In addition, HPMC supports our professional staff in volunteering their expertise in their professions. For example, our Directress of Nursing is teaching nursing students about the field of Occupational Health Nursing, both at CBC and WSU Tri-Cities. HPMC has also developed a preceptor program at our Hanford medical clinic for nursing students. This program provides occupational health clinical opportunities for students interested in, or wanting to become more familiar with occupational health nursing.
Each year, HPMC sponsors four teams that participate in the JA Bowl fundraising event. This event not only supports JA, but is a great venue for our employees to engage with each other outside the workplace. It promotes team building and creativity as each of our employee teams compete for various recognition and awards.
Walla Walla Community College
HPMC donates cash annually to the Walla Walla Community College farrier program. This money is used as both a scholarship and a resource for purchasing student's farrier tools, which can cost as much as $500 a set.
Second Harvest: Taking a Bite Out of Hunger
HPMC is a proud supporter of Second Harvest whose mission is to get healthy food to children, families and seniors facing hunger in the Columbia Basin. Members of the management team joined forces to help make the “Taking a Bite out of Hunger” event a success within our community!
Habitat for Humanity
On October 5, 2019, HPMC staff and their family and friends volunteered to help finish a house in Pasco. We had a great weather day, painting exterior trim and getting to know each other a bit more. Habitat for Humanity is a great organization ran mostly by volunteers, helping low income community members become homeowners. To learn more, visit http://habitatbuilds.com.
Elijah Family Homes
Team HPMC has been honored to provide over a decade of support to Elijah Family Homes. Elijah Family Homes, a faith-based organization, fosters hope, dignity and self-sufficiency through stable housing and supportive services for families in recovery. As the key sponsor of the Elijah Family Homes 2019 Summer Gala, Team HPMC ensured continued growth and success for this increasingly needed program.
We also want to thank our wonderful employees who annually donate gifts to the Elijah Family Homes families that are in recovery helping their children to have a magic filled Christmas! We could not do any of this without them and their selfless generosity!
