HPMC’s Marshall Space Flight Center Occupational Health Services Clinic Receives 3 Year Accreditation

The occupational health services clinic at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama, contracted to HPM Corporation, recently received a three year term of accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).  AAAHC is one of the leading organizations committed to developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education and research.

As the award letter from AAAHC stated:

“Granting accreditation reflects confidence, based on evidence from this recent survey, that you meet, and will continue to demonstrate throughout the accreditation term, the attributes of an accreditable organization as reflected in the standards found in the Accreditation Handbook for Ambulatory Health Care.  The dedication and effort necessary for an organization to be accredited is substantial and the compliance with those standards implies a commitment to continual self-evaluation and continuous improvement.

The HPMC team at MSFC, led by Program Manager Mary Jones, did an outstanding job of bringing the Marshall program into “substantial compliance” with the association’s accreditation standards.  We are very proud of this significant accomplishment the team achieved.

HPM Corporation Supports Downtown Revitalization Effort

In 2005, the Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership worked with other Downtown revitalization programs across the state, to introduce legislation creating a Business & Occupation (B&O) tax credit for individual businesses investing in local downtown revitalization programs. In 2006 the Partnership was pleased to announce that HPM Corporation became the first business in the area to take advantage of the tax credit with a $20,000 contribution to the Downtown Kennewick revitalization effort. HPM Corporation is a small woman-owned business that began in the Tri-Cities five years ago and is locally recognized as one of the corporate principles providing occupational health services to the Hanford Site. HPMC has expertise in a broad range of occupational health and safety professions that is not typically found in small business and has direct responsibility and accountability for several areas of the Hanford program’s performance. The occupational health program at Hanford delivers comprehensive occupational health services to over 12,000 employees working in a variety of settings involving radiation, hazardous materials, and environmental hazards. “The Partnership believes this is a unique opportunity for businesses to invest a portion of your B&O tax dollars in their local community and I would personally like to thank HPM Corporation for their contribution and encourage other businesses in the Tri-Cities area to follow HPM Corporation’s lead in utilizing this tax credit supporting downtown revitalization efforts” says Gary Hall, President of the Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership.
